Owner/Head Coach Rowdy Felder has been a CrossFitter for nearly a decade and specializes in gymnastics. "I love helping others set goals and achieve them," he says. "Most of us are not aware what we are capable of. I like removing those obstacles that hold people back from meeting their full potential, physically and mentally."
Rowdy’s own athletic background includes playing competitive sports since he was four years old. "I started off with tee ball," he says. "At that point in my athletic career, it was more of smacking the tee and kicking the dirt around. But at the end of the day, there was still a winner and a loser." Throughout high school, he focused on two sports: baseball and basketball. "Being more focused on the competition side of those sports versus the training, my athletic prowess didn’t extend much past high school. However, I learned a lot. One of those lessons is that you have to train to be successful not only at sports, but any aspect of life."
That’s why Rowdy fell in love with the sport of CrossFit. "We are simply training for life, a very long life," he says. "And it gives the older crowd like myself an outlet for the competitiveness that lives inside of us all, whether we want to admit it or not."
Rowdy is currently on active duty with the United States Navy, so that eats up a lot of his free time. "Between CrossFit and the military, I enjoy spending down time with my wife, soon-to-be son, and our pups."
